Woke Peak

Welcome to this week’s Weekly Sceptic podcast – episode 33!

Nick and Toby revisit Bud Light’s disastrous decision to pay Dylan Mulvany to endorse its product. They discuss whether this is a turning point in the pushback against woke corporations and wonder if the Right should embrace the same tactics as the Left, i.e., encourage people to boycott companies they disapprove of.

In our regular section ‘Birdwatch’, the boys discuss Elon’s evisceration of a BBC tech correspondent and why it’s so damaging for legacy media companies like the BBC to be caught trafficking in misinformation when trustworthiness is supposed to be their great asset.

They then talk about the latest Just Stop Oil protest, which involved orange powder and a snooker table, and forensically analyse the protestor’s Patreon page.

Joe Biden visited Ireland and Nick and Toby discuss his gaffe-ridden tour and how on earth this has persuaded him to run for president again. Can he win re-election? Not according to Dominic Cummings, who has used AI to predict a Trump victory in a Biden-Trump contest.

This week’s sponsor is Simple SEOMan, who you can contact via email on guy@simpleseoman.co.uk.

Nick and Dr Will Jones discuss this week’s most interesting stories in the Daily Sceptic.

And finally, the boys vie for this week’s Peak Woke title.
